Mill House Retreats

Revd Lynne Chitty has recently joined our mailing list. She offers the following facility that might be of interest to some readers.

MILL HOUSE RETREATS is a small retreat centre 5 minutes off junction 27 of the M5 and a mile from Tiverton Parkway station. if any SCL members would like to come for a day or to stay they would be very welcome. Bursaries are available and costs can also be offset if you are willing to help in the kitchen or garden for a couple of hours a day or to lead chapel time or offer a simple bible study. I live in a caravan on site with my cat Eliza and a variety of rescue animals mainly geriatric chickens and guinea pigs. I am a Deacon living as a solitary but help in the house - and in the local churches - I also lead creative writing groups and offer a rhythm of prayer and silence in the house.

The retreat offers a chance to have some space and rest and to write/paint make bread on your own or with others. Costs to SCL members would be £50 a night- fully catered.

For a day here just a donation would be appreciated but costs can be covered for people on small means- as I am myself. We are a community of 3 at present but are always open for folks to come for an extended stay or to explore community life.
